The Gionee S6 Pro has been unveiled in China at CNY 1,999 (approx. Rs. 20,400). The device is available on Gionee's own online store. As the successor to the Gionee S6, the new smartphone features much improved specifications over its predecessor. It sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display, and is powered by a MediaTek Helio P10 SoC with 4GB of RAM. It also offers 64GB of onboard storage and a 3130mAh battery pack. In comparison, the original Gionee S6 offered a 720p display panel and MediaTek MT6753 SoC with 3GB of RAM. It also had half the internal storage as the S6 Pro.
The Gionee S6 Pro houses a 13MP primary camera, akin its predecessor. However, the front camera has been upgraded to an 8MP sensor. The new smartphone also runs on Android Marshmallow v6.0, with Amigo OS 3.2 layered over it.
It is not known if and when the new Gionee S6 Pro will be launched in markets outside China. The original Gionee S6 was launched in India back in February this year, at Rs. 19,999. The company originally planned to launch the phone a month earlier, but was delayed for internal reasons.
