Gionee Max goes on sale from August 31

Gionee Max has launched in India marking the return of the company in the country’s smartphone segment. Gionee currently sells phones, smartwatches, power banks, earphones and more in India. The phone doesn’t boast of some groundbreaking hardware instead it’s the affordability it goes for. 

The phone comes with a large 6.1-inch display, is powered by an octa-core processor and a high-capacity battery. Let’s take a look at the specifications, pricing and availability of the Gionee Max.

Gionee Max price and availability

Gionee Max is priced at Rs 5,999 for the single 2GB+32GB storage variant and goes on sale on Flipkart from August 31. It comes in three colours– black, red and royal blue to choose from.

Gionee Max specifications

Gionee Max features a 6.1-inch HD+ (1560 x 720 pixels) resolution display with a layer of 2.5D curved glass. It measures 10.75 millimetres in thickness and weighs 185 grams. 

This phone is powered by the Unisoc 9863A processor with an octa-core CPU and IMG8322 GPU. This is paired with 2GB RAM and 32GB storage with microSD card support of upto 256GB. It runs on Android 10-based custom UI.

The Gionee Max comes with two cameras on the back, a primary 13MP camera and a bokeh lens that assists in creating portrait pictures. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera housed within the waterdrop notch cutout.

The phone does not have a fingerprint sensor but does come with a face unlock feature that uses the front-facing camera. There’s a 3.5mm audio jack along with FM radio, Bluetooth 4.2 ad more.

Gionee Max is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with support for reverse charging that lets you charge compatible devices. Gionee claims that the phone offers around 28 days worth of battery standby time.
