Gionee has launched the Marathon M5 Lite in India. The device is priced at Rs. 12,999, and is available on the company’s own online store. The highlight feature of the Marathon M5 Lite is its large 4000mAh battery, which the company claims to offer 40 hours of talk time. Like its bigger brother, the Marathon M5, the Lite can also charge other phones.
Other specifications of the Gionee Marathon M5 Lite include a 5-inch HD display with a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6735 SoC with 3GB of RAM. The phone come with 32GB of onboard storage which can be expanded by up to 128GB via a microSD card. There is an 8MP camera located at the back of the device with a 5MP front facing camera. The phone runs Android Lollipop v5.1 with Amigo UI layered over it.
The Gionee Marathon M5 Lite will compete against other smartphones with large batteries like the Asus Zenfone Max and the Lenovo P1m. The Asus Zenfone Max is priced at Rs. 9,999 and comes with a 5000mAh battery. The device has a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 SoC with 2GB of RAM. At the back is a 13MP camera with a 5MP camera in the front. The Lenovo P1m was launched at a price of Rs. 7,999 and comes with a 4000mAh battery. The device has a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a MediaTek MT6735P SoC with 2GB of RAM. At the back is an 8MP camera with a 5MP front camera.
