Gionee has started teasing a new product announcement for 2017 that will feature a massive 7000mAh battery. Gionee's upcoming smartphone codenamed M2017 has already cleared TENAA, the Chinese telecommunication authority confirming the use of non-removable 7000mAh battery.

The selling point of Gionee M2017 is the 7000mAh which is almost as big as the power banks used by most consumers. The smartphone's specifications spotted on TENAA hints at 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. The device features a 5.7-inch curved display with a Quad HD resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels.

According to GizmoChina, Gionee M2017 houses an unknown octa-core processor clocked at 1.96GHz. There is also a mention of 12MP + 13MP dual rear camera setup along with an 8MP front camera. The smartphone is definitely offering top-line specifications here.

Gionee M2017 is definitely thick at 10.65mm and weighs 230 grams but that is a really small compromise to make considering the 7000mAh battery. The smartphone is listed with Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow.

There is no word on the release date or pricing of the device but this could be Gionee M7. Gionee's last battery oriented smartphones, Marathon M5 and M6 Plus with massive 6020mAh battery and now the company is preparing to better its own count.
