Gionee has launched a new smartphone that sports a massive 7000mAh battery. Called the M2017, the company claims that the phone can offer a talktime of nearly 32 hours. Besides the large battery, the smartphone also comes with a 5.7-inch QHD curved AMOLED display and is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 653 SoC with 6GB of RAM. The device offers 128GB of inbuilt storage and runs Amigo3.5 UI, which is based on Android Marshmallow.
The Gionee M2017 features a dual-rear camera setup consisting of 12MP and 13MP cameras, with 2X optical zoom. At the front is an 8MP camera. It also has a fingerprint sensor located on the home button. Gionee M2017 is priced at CNY 6999, which is approximately Rs. 68,400. It is not yet known if or when Gionee will sell the device in India. The M2017 was spotted on Chinese certification website, TENAA earlier this month.
Gionee already sells phones with large battery capacities under the Marathon brand. The Marathon M5 Plus sports a 5020mAh battery and is priced at Rs. 19,999. The phone also comes with a 6-inch AMOLED display, and offers 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage.
