We have seen some competitive smartphones from the Chinese handset maker Gionee and today they have announced a new product. At a launch event in India, the company has officially announced its latest handset, the Elife S5.5. The main USP of this smartphone is that it is being touted as the world’s slimmest Android smartphone in the market with a thickness of just 5.5mm.
The Elife S5.5 features a metal frame body with a glass back panel and will be available in various colour options including pink, blue, purple, black and white. Being the slimmest smartphone it doesn’t compromise on hardware as it comes with a powerful MediaTek MT6592 1.7Ghz octa-core processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Other features include a 5-inch full HD panel, a 13MP rear camera, a 5MP front camera with 95 degree wide angle lens, a 2300mAh battery and will run on Android 4.2 with Amigo UI on top.
Specifications:
Gionee has confirmed that the smartphone will be launched in about 40 countries and India will be the second country to get the smartphone after China. The price of the smartphone has been confirmed at Rs.22,999 and will be available by the end of April 2014.
