Also considered as the Nexus 5 rival, the new Gionee Elife E7 sports a 5.5-inch full HD display, quad-core processor and 16MP rear camera.
Gionee is set to unveil its new flagship Android smartphone, E7, in India today. The Gionee Elife 7 runs a heavily modified version of Android Jelly Bean 4.2, which the company brands as Amigo 2.0. The 3G variant of the smartphone will be powered by a 2.2GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800 chipset, while the 4G variant has a whooping 2.5 GHz Krait 400 CPU.
The E7 with 16GB of internal storage will feature 2GB of RAM, while the 32GB model will have 3GB of RAM on-board. The Gionee Elife 7 has a 5.5-inch 1080p display with 400ppi.
The main highlight of the smartphone is the 16MP camera, courtesy of the Largan M8 lens and 1/2.3-inch sensor with large 1.34µm pixels. The 1/2.3-inch OV16825 is capable of shooting full-resolution 16MP video at 30 frames-per-second (FPS), 4K, 2K (3840 x 2160) video at 60 FPS, and 1080p HD video at 60 FPS with extra pixels for electronic image stabilization (EIS).
Additionally, the sensor features an on-chip scaler, which enables users to take multiple high res frames in rapid succession and also supports 16MP high-speed photography. Gionee says the sensor's 1.34-micron OmniBSI-2 pixel delivers exceptional low-light performance.
There's an 8MP front camera as well. Gionee offers a removable 2500mAh battery. There's no official word on the pricing of the smartphone, however it's expected to be around Rs. 30,000. Also read: Gionee Elife E7 to challenge the Nexus 5, Sony Xperia Z1, LG G2 market?
