Gionee has announced the launch of its A1 Plus smartphone in India at Rs 26,999. The smartphone first showcased at Mobile World Congress in February will go on sale from major retail stores starting July 26.
Gionee A1 Plus is an updated version of the company's already available A1 and is aimed primarily at those looking for a great camera and battery performance. The handset sports a 6-inch display with a Full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and is powered by MediaTek's octa-core Helio P25 chipset. The device comes with 4GB RAM, 64GB storage and supports expandable storage up to 256GB via microSD card slot.
"The A Series is rooted to the growing demand of high-quality smartphone photography experience. Keeping up with the rising trend the A1 Plus exhibits excellent camera quality with flawless dual rear camera and exquisite design tradition that will earn accolades for Gionee flagship series. We are confident that our attention to detail with impressive specs, powerful battery and advanced features will deliver the best user experience possible," said Alok Shrivastava, Director – Business Intelligence and Planning, Gionee India.
The Gionee A1 Plus' selling point is the new dual rear camera setup with a combination of 13MP main autofocus sensor coupled with f/2.0 aperture and a 5MP secondary fixed focus sensor with f/2.2 aperture. The secondary sensor is used to create real-time bokeh effect and capture portrait images. The handset also offers a 20MP front camera for selfies. Gionee A1 Plus offers connectivity options like WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and micro-USB port. The handset houses a beefy 4550mAh non-removable battery and runs Amigo 4.0 UI based on Android 7.0 Nougat. The handset will be available in gold and black colour options.
