Get ready for Apple’s ads to take over your phone’s screen

Apple has introduced two new kinds of ads that will let developers earn more money from advertising. These ads will also be more intrusive for users.

Are you an Apple fan? Doesn’t matter, because the company’s new ads are about to fill up your phone’s screen. The Cupertino, California based company has announced two new ad formats for its iAD platform. This will include full-screen inserstitial banner ads and pre-roll videos, which have both been designed to show up on your entire screen. The ads allow developers to earn more revenue.

The new ad format will be applicable to both iPad and iPhone devices and developers can start using them in their ads today. The pre-roll videos though will work only with iOS 7 and can’t be longer than 15,30 and 60 seconds.

Incidentally, other ad networks, including the mobile ad platform from Google have already had such advertisements for a while now. In the iAd network though, users needed to tap on specific places in order to open a full screen ad. Apple has already had to compete with other network, including Google, which offers its ad network on many platforms, including Apple’s. Before the iAd network, in-app purchases were, for a long time, the only source of revnue for developers creating apps for iOS. The company introduced this in order to allow developers to introduce ads in their apps by adding just a few lines of code.
