Get a new iPad when your old one’s battery dies!
Ever wondered what would happen when your iPad’s battery dies? And make no mistake, someday it will, just like laptop and cell-phone batteries. Would you simply get a new battery?
Use and replace!
Well, the iPad battery is different from laptops and cell-phones in one major respect, it is not replaceable, and comes as part of the mold itself. It would take a technician to open the product to extract the battery, before replacing it with a new battery (which will never be available in stores or sold seperately from an iPad).
Apple sure realises the reality of this dilemma, and so will offer iPad customers a brand new iPad with a brand new battery, when the old one’s battery runs out of steam. Called the Battery Replacement Service, it will cost $99 $6.95 shipping, exclusive of local taxes.
That’s great, you can get a new iPad every time your battery is inoperable. But, don’t expect Apple to backup or transfer your old data to your new iPad. That responsibility is yours, and you should sync the iPad with iTunes before you send it to be exchanged. The entire process will take approximately 1 week from the day you turn in your old iPad.
