FIR against Ringing Bells seems premature: Allahabad HC
The Court allowed the Ringing Bells MD Mohit Goel, Chairman Ashok Chadha and Dharna Garg, to move for release of their passports as well.
The Allahabad High Court has said that the FIR against Ringing Bells seems premature. The Division Bench of Justice B.K. Narayan and R.N. Mishra, noted that the Petitioners should be given time to fulfill their commitment. The court had earlier given the petitioners two weeks time to file their reply, listing the matter for May 18, 2016. The court has ordered for no coercive step to be taken against the Petitioners and or their business till the next date of hearing. The Petitioners, Mohit Goel, Ashok Chadha and Dharna Garg, have been allowed to move an application to release their passports. The High Court had earlier given them interim relief till April 7.
Further, the Noida Police, on Tuesday, submitted a status report to the court, stating that all the money collected from consumers as advance, had been duly refunded to them. Advocate, Abhishek Vikram, Counsel for Ringing Bells, said, “We are very happy with today’s order. We shall now press for quashing of the FIR as there is no merit in the FIT and extraneous factors have gone into its lodging.” Vikram said that the FIT is a strategy to derail timely launch of the company’s flagship product and that the High Court had kept this aspect in mind when giving its judgement.
