The Nubia M2 and Z17 Mini smartphones are going to be launched in India soon, confirmed sources close to the company. Both the devices have dual-camera configurations on the back, and are to be launched by June. In fact, our sources confirmed that the Nubia Z17 Mini will be launched this month, while the Nubia M2 shall follow, 45 days after the Z17 Mini. The Z17 Mini is a mid-ranged device, price below Rs. 25,000, although we do not have confirmation on what the exact price will be. On the other hand, the Nubia M2 is a more premium device, priced at around Rs. 30,000.
Both the devices have been launched in China already, so the specifications are readily available. The Nubia Z17 Mini has a 13MP dual-camera setup on the back and runs on the Snapdragon 652 SoC. There’s a Snapdragon 653 variant as well, although we don’t yet know whether Nubia will launch that device here in India. The Nubia Z17 Mini also has a 1080p 5.2 inch display and 4GB of RAM, with 64GB storage. The Snapdragon 653 variant sports 6GB RAM and the same storage. Both have micro-SD card slots, supporting up to 256GB. There’s a 2950 mAh battery on the smartphone.
Nubia M2
Further, the Nubia M2 also has a 13MP dual camera setup, with one sensor meant to capture colour information, while the other clicks in monochrome. The device runs on the Snapdragon 625 and has a Super AMOLED display panel, with 1080p resolution and 5.5 inch in size. The design language followed on this one seems similar to the Nubia M2 Lite we reviewed recently. The Nubia M2 has a bigger battery, with 3930 mAh capacity and both the M2 and Z17 Mini run on Android Marshmallow 6.0.1.
Interestingly, while the dual-rear cameras are the focus here, both smartphones have 16MP front cameras as well. So, they will likely be vying for the selfie-driven market that has been picking up in the country by the day.
Update: We got hold of some images of the Nubia Z17 Mini as well. The phone looks quite nice and follows the same design language that we've seen on Nubia's devices before.
