It is no secret that the iQOO 9 series is all set to launch in India in the coming weeks. While the company has not confirmed the launch date of the device yet, Nipun Marya, CEO of IQOO India, confirmed to us earlier in the month that the device will be launched in India very soon.
The series will bring with it two new phones — iQOO 9 and iQOO 9 Pro. And ahead of the rumoured February India launch, we now have exclusive information about the full spec sheet and also the pricing of the iQOO 9.
iQOO 9: India pricing
As per our sources close to the company, in India, both iQOO 9 phones will not be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset. Instead, the iQOO 9 will come housing a Snapdragon 888+ chip inside it. This appears to be a decision taken to keep the pricing of the iQOO 9 to competitive levels. Our source has revealed the iQOO 9 will be priced between Rs 40,000 to Rs 45,000 mark in India and will be positioned as a direct competitor to the OnePlus 9RT in the country.
iQOO 9: Specifications
As mentioned above, we have gained access to the complete spec sheet of the iQOO 9, revealing all information about the hardware of the India variant of the device. To begin with, the phone will feature a 6.56-inch 10-bit AMOLED panel with support for a fast 120Hz refresh rate.
Under the hood, we will have the Snapdragon 888+ chipset on the device, which will be paired to multiple RAM and storage options, with all of them being LPDDR5 + UFS 3.1 configurations. The phone will come running FunTouchOs 12 (based on Android 12) out-of-the-box, which will also bring support for the company's Extended RAM feature which will add 4GB of virtual RAM to improve performance.
The iQOO 9 will also bring some gaming first features to the table, with an Intelligent Display Chip for graphics enhancement, and support for in-display Monster Touch gaming triggers. To keep the temperature in check, the phone will come with a vapour chamber cooling solution.
For optics, the iQOO 9 will get a 16MP lens on the front with the rear set-up housing a 48MP IMX 598 sensor along with a 13MP wide-angle lens and a 13MP 50mm Professional Portrait lens. Interestingly, there will also be support for Gimbal Stabilisation on the primary lens.
Keeping the lights on the device will be a 4350mAh battery pack which will offer support for 120W fast charging to help the phone fill up to the brim in about 18 minutes. Our source also informed us that the Indian variant of the iQOO 9 will weigh 200 grams and will be 8.63mm in thickness.
