Poco has just launched its first ever special edition phone in India. The Poco F6 Deadpool Edition will go on sale starting August 7 via Flipkart and is priced at Rs 29,999 for the single 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, Himanshu Tandon, Country Head, Poco India told Times Network.
The new Poco phone has been launched in collaboration with Marvel movie Deadpool and Wolverine which hits theatres today.
Times Network and Digit had an early access to the phone and did an exclusive unboxing of the device with Himanshu. The Poco F6 Special Edition comes in a unique retail box that has multiple design elements inspired by Marvel’s mercenary antihero.
The phone itself is inspired by the Marvel characters. The rear panel is red, in line with Deadpool’s suit. It has a 3D impression of Deadpool and Wolverine at the back, along with the Deadpool logo on the camera light. There is another subtle Deadpool branding which runs under the camera module.
Within the box, there are two smaller boxes – one with Deadpool face and other with Wolverine – each contains different items. The SIM ejector tool also has the Deadpool logo while the charger has the movie branding. However, it is still white. It would have been better if the charger and the charging cable had the same theme.
The box contains a special card which reads these lines from the movie –
“After some professional disappointments and ongoing midlife crisis, Wade Wilson now sells used cars. He is completely hung up his boots until his family, friends and whole world are threatened.
With everyone he loves at risk, Deadpool teams up with a reluctant Wolverine to fight for their survival and ultimately, their legacy.”
Unfortunately, Poco hasn’t extended the theme to the UI. This means the F6 Special Edition doesn’t have Deadpool inspired icons or theme.
“Our audience is Gen-Z. They always need something spicy. So, all our collaborations have been like that – be it Shah Rukh Khan in Jawan, Salman Khan in Bigg Boss or Orry. Now, we have collaborated with Deadpool and Wolverine. This will be an India exclusive phone,” Himanshu told Times Network.
The rest of the features and specifications of the phone remain the same as the standard Poco F6. The phone features a 6.67-inch 120Hz 1.5K AMOLED screen, a 50-megapixel main camera and a 20-megapixel selfie shooter. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 chipset, packs a 5000mAh battery and supports 90W fast charging.
