European pricing shows Samsung Galaxy S4 will cost around Rs. 45,500
Pre-launch prices for Galaxy S4 wildly fluctuate between Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 60,000 but no official price out yet.
Pre-order prices for the Samsung Galaxy S4 have been leaked by a couple of European sites showing that the phone will cost around 650 Euros (Rs. 45,500 approx.). GSM Arena spotted the Galaxy S4 go live on an Italian retailer’s site for 699 Euros following which Amazon Germany also listed the phone for 650 Euros.
On the other hand, the American price for the Galaxy S4’s 16GB model will probably be around $579 (Rs. 31,400 approx.) as was revealed on a site hosting a contest where 48 Galaxy S4s would be given away to participants. If we assume that that price is before tax, we can assume that in India after tax, the 16GB Galaxy S4 could be sold for around Rs. 35,500 (approx.). This pricing would make the 16GB Galaxy S4 less expensive than the 16GB iPhone 5 which is being sold in India for Rs. 44,000.
Of course, all of the above are mere assumptions which is further proven by the fact that an online retailer on Rediff has the phone available for pre-order for a massive Rs. 60,000. While we obviously don’t expect the Galaxy S4 to launch at that insane price, it’s highly possible that it does show up with a price-tag that’s more expensive than we expected.
The Samsung Galaxy S4 is expected to hit global markets in April-May.
