Energizer is advertising its 16,000mAh battery-powered as 'The Most Powerful Phone at MWC'.

US-based Energizer, known for its long-lasting disposable batteries, and more recently for rugged smartphones and feature phones with long battery life, has launched the Power Max P16K Pro with a whopping 16,000mAh battery. That’s essentially a power bank disguised as a smartphone. In comparison, that’s five times the battery capacity of the new Samsung Galaxy S9.

While most long-lasting phones with 5,000mAh battery last just over a day and a little more, you will have to plug it in after a long day, but not the P16K Pro. Energizer had licensed its brand to Avenir Mobiles which desgined and manufactured the phones. Because of the gigantic battery, the phone weighs around 350 grams. The P16K Pro, we learnt, will launch in September for EUR499 (Rs 40,000 approx) in Europe with an India launch scheduled later this year.

Everything about this phone is an overkill. The Power Max P16K Pro is powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P25 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. The phone features a IPS LCD 5.99-inch Full HD+ with 18:9 aspect ratio. At the back is a dual-camera stack with 16-megapixel and 13-megapixel sensor combo along with PDAF and dual-tone LED flash. At the front is also a dual-camera sensor with 13-megapixel and 5-megapixel lens. It runs on Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Energizer also launched the Power Max P490S which features a 4,000mAh battery and a 4.95-inch FWVGA display of 18:9 aspect ratio with 480×854 resolution. The phone is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6739 chipset coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of storage which is expandable via a microSD card. There’s dual cameras both at the front and the back  (8-megapixel and 0.3-megapixel at the back, 5-megapixel and 0.3-megapixel at the front).

Additionally, Energizer also launched the Hardcase H590S smartphone which is built for durability and sports a 5.9-inch Full HD+ display with 18:9 aspect ratio and Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 coupled with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage which is expandable via a microSD card. There’s dual cameras on both sides on this one as well — 16-megapixel and 0.3-megpaixel at the back and 13-megapixel and 0.3-megapixel on the front. Powering everything is a 5,800mAh battery.

Energizer has said its lineup of feature phones, Hard Case phones and Power Max phones will all make their way to India this year.
