Dual-core Micromax A85 Superfone officially launched in India

Micromax has officially launched its first dual-core Android smartphone, Micromax A85 Superfone, in India. The new Micromax smartphone runs Android 2.2 Froyo operating system, which is upgradeable to Gingerbread. It is powered by 1GHz dual-core Nvidia Tegra 2 processor. The most notable feature of the A85, apart from the dual-core offering at this price point, is said to be its Gesture Control interface.

The Gesture Control feature allows users to operate the applications such as the browser, through to contacts, photo gallery, and music player. It even allows users to receive/end calls with hand gestures. The Micromax A85 Superfone features a 3.8-inch TFT capacitive touch display with 480 x 800 pixels resolution. It also comes with a 5.0MP rear camera. The A85 has a 8GB of internal storage, which can be expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

For connectivity, the Micromax A85 Superfone supports GPRS, 3G, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi. The device also YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa apps bundled. The Micromax Superfone has a 1,500mAh battery, which is supposed to give talktime up to 3 hours and 20 minutes.
