Dual-core Huawei Ascend P1 listed online at Rs. 12,490, due late-August

Huawei unveils the slim Ascend P1, which boasts of a 4.3-inch display, dual core processor and Android ICS OS, for Rs 12,490.

Huawei has launched the sleek Ascend P1 with Android ICS OS, 4.3-inch display screen and dual-core processor. The mobile is up for pre-order on Flipkart.com for Rs. 12,490.

The Ascend P1 features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display with a 960×540 pixels (qHD) resolution. It has a scratch-resistant Corning Gorilla glass protection against scratches. The mobile is powered by a dual-core 1.5GHz processor and runs on outdated Google Android ICS operating system.

The Huawei Ascend P1 supports 4GB built-in storage expandable via microSD card support to 64GB and comes with 1GB of RAM. It comes with an 8MP auto-focus rear snapper with dual-LED flash with full HD video recording. It also has a front 1.3MP camera for self portrait and video calling.

The Ascend P1 comes with proximity sensor, accelerometer sensor, G-sensor, ambient light sensor, gyroscope and compass sensors. Huawei has preloaded the mobile with popular apps like Google Search, Weather Update, Google Talk, YouTube, Instant Messaging and App Installer. On the connectivity front, the device comes with 3G support, Wi-Fi, DLNA, Bluetooth 3.0 and GPS. The phone supports Dolby Surround Sound technology, built-in FM radio and is powered by an 1800 mAh battery.

Flipkart quotes a tentative launch date of the 3rd week of August. The Huawei Ascend P1 will face competition from a variety of devices like Xolo A500S, Micromax Canvas HD and Karbonn Titanium 1, which offer Android Jelly Bean OS, and in some cases, quad-core processors, all in a similar price range.
