The saga of OnePlus One and whether it will get CyanogenMod support in India has come to a sad end, after a detour into speculative and confusing territory, for those interested in the phone here. Cyanogen published another blog post earlier today clarifying that they will, after all, not support OnePlus One phones sold in India.
Earlier, when OnePlus posted a statement that Cyanogen won’t support OnePlus One phones sold in India, Cyanogen clarified in a blog post that it will continue to support the global version of the phone and it was expected that India will get global version of the phone as well. But now it's clear that India will get its own version of the OnePlus One which won't see official support from Cyanogen.
In the aftermath of this fiasco, OnePlus has committed that it is developing its own ROM and the alpha build will be available soon with a stable build coming out by February. According to a OnePlus blog post, the company is building a bloat-free ROM on Android 5.0 Lollipop that will incorporate Google’s material design.
Currently all OnePlus One phones which are sold in India run on Cyanogen 11s mod but it won’t be updated any further by Cyanogen. Instead, if you are buying or have bought the OnePlus One in India, you'll have to rely on OnePlus setting up support centres in India next year to help you shift to its own OS.
