The 3G Auction in New Delhi started last Friday, and in the 28 rounds and 5 days of bidding that followed, things look to be moving to a close.
Thursday, the fifth day of bidding, saw “one provisional winning bid” for national cover rise 38% from the base, to a whopping Rs. 48.31 billion (approx $1.1 billion). It has not been disclosed who made this bid.
Earlier estimates by the Department of Communications held that the 3G Auction would take approximately 2 weeks to complete, but this latest information suggests it might do so a bit earlier than that.
