The incident occurred near Sangadi in Sakoli taluka on the road to Arjuni Morgaon in Maharashtra.

According to mobile phone experts, such phone blasts are pretty rare and are usually linked to battery malfunctions. Overcharging, using unauthorized chargers, or exposing phones to excessive heat can significantly increase the risk of battery failure.

How to prevent your phone from overheating

You should follow these steps to ensure that your phone doesn’t overheat:

  • Charge responsibly and avoid charging phones overnight.
  • Avoid prolonged exposure to direct sunlight.
  • Lastly, do not use damaged or second-hand batteries in your phone.
  • Do not get your phone repaired from random shops and go to authorised stores whenever possible.

The phone that blasted was the CMF Phone 1. CMF, which is a Nothing sub-brand, is yet to release a statement in this regard.
