You must have heard about the Kodak phone that was expected at the CES this year. Well, the rumours were true. The company announced the Kodak IM5, which has been built by a company called Bullitt. Of course, being a Kodak phone, you expect it to be focused on imaging. The device has a 13 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front shooter, but according to initial reports, the camera performance isn't exactly groundbreaking.
While reports say that both the cameras deal with tough lighting conditions admirably, the camera is still not as good as some existing devices in the market. In addition, according to a report by The Verge, Bullit says that the Kodak Phone was designed to provide a usable camera phone for people who don’t want to go for high-end models. The device also has buttons for quickly printing and sharing images that you take.
The device runs on Android 4.4 KitKat, with a custom UI and Lollipop is expected later this year. It is apparently very light, almost as light as the Samsung Galaxy Alpha, reports say. The device will be available in the first quarter this year, at an unlocked price of $249 (approx. Rs. 16,000). It will only be available in Europe though and it is not clear whether it will be sold elsewhere.
