BSNL announces a slew of offers on its 12th anniversary
On its 12th anniversary, state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) has announced a number of offers for consumers. Starting this month, BSNL users will be getting a 20 percent discount on 3G data cards, extra talk time, special data plans for students, plans bundled with the tablets and new value for money CDMA plans.
BSNL is offering 20 percent extra usage on top-up vouchers of Rs 200, Rs 500, Rs 1000 and Rs 6000 under prepaid GSM services for a week starting today. Moreover, 3G users will get 20 percent off on 7.2Mbps data card and 3G data plans. After discount, users can get 1250 MB of data at Rs. 225 and 2,500MB data at Rs. 360.
Targeting at youth, BSNL will be offering 1500 MB of data at Rs. 120 and 7000 MB of data at Rs. 599, with special night usage benefits. This offer will be available from Monday till next three months. The state run telco plans to launch an unlimited plan for CDMA customers. Under the proposed plan, CDMA users will be able to make unlimited local and STD calls to any network at the monthly rentals of Rs. 650 and Rs. 850 respectively.
BSNL customers will also be given free games and music on demand with every new broadband connection registered from 1st October to 31st December 2012. Installation charges, security deposit on broadband modems will be waived off.
BSNL Chairman and Managing Director RK Upadhyay says the company is eyeing the cloud computing segment and plans to launch new cloud based services starting November. The state run telco is also planning to introduce a ‘loyalty programme’ for the landline and broadband customers. Other plans include a single bill scheme for corporate customers and simplifying payment procedures for post-paid consumers.
