BlackBerry Leap launched in India for Rs. 21,490
Shortly after the official announcement, the BlackBerry Leap full touch smartphone has been launched in India. Priced at Rs. 21,490, the smartphone will compete with a slew of mid-range Android smartphones in the market.
BlackBerry has officially launched its latest Leap smartphone in India. Priced at Rs. 21490 , the new Leap is available in the Indian market starting May 12. The BlackBerry Leap is a full touch smartphone running the latest BlackBerry OS 10 operating system.
The BlackBerry Leap, announced recently, has a 5-inch 720p display. It sports 8 megapixel auto-focus rear camera and 2 megapixel fixed-focus front camera. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz dual-core Qualcomm processor along with 2GB of RAM. The smartphone has 16GB built-in storage, supports additional storage via microSD via 128GB. Connectivity options include 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n and GPS. It has a 2800 mAh battery rated to deliver up to 25 hours mixed use.
Other unique features of the Leap include BlackBerry Blend that allows users to integrate BlackBerry smartphone data to computer and tablet, and BlackBerry Link software for computer to enable synchronization of data and media. It also has BlackBerry Assistant, the digital assistant can be used with voice and text commands to help users manage work and personal email, contacts, calendar and other native BlackBerry 10 applications.

BlackBerry, which has of late been focusing on the software/services, is making efforts to sustain in the hardware segment. The company has also launched a few full touch smartphones along with unique BlackBerry Passport. Prior to the Leap, the company had launched the Z3 full touch smartphone last year.
