HIGHLIGHTS

There is some more movement on the issue of the BlackBerry A10, the alleged gamer-centric phone from BlackBerry that is rumoured to be launching before the year ends.

Just five days ago, we had reported that Blackberry is possibly working on a larger, gamer-centric device named the A10. Today, a confidential slide from an internal BlackBerry memo has leaked with full details of the phone.

For starters, the BlackBerry A10 will sport a 5-inch OLED screen with a resolution of 1280×720 (295 ppi). Powering the phone will be a Qualcomm MSM8960 Dual Core CPU clocked at 1.7GHz along with a quad core GPU. To truly make it in the league of a decent gaming device, BlackBerry is also putting a whole 2 GB of RAM into the phone, which should manage to give decent frame rates regardless of what game one plays. The other piece of specification that makes the A10 a gaming-centric device is the fact that it packs a 2800mAh battery, which should provide adequate juice for gaming and any other activity while allowing your device to last about a day.

The document seems to be legitimate, but the only problem is that it is dated May 2013, making it almost two months old. IT is possible that since then, the phone has undergone some changes in specs, or that BlackBerry has scrapped the idea altogether. Whatever the case may be, we will eventually find out before the year’s closing as rumours suggest the phone will be launched before the year ends, if it is launched at all.
