BlackBerry A10 gamer-centric 5-inch smartphone rumoured for November

HIGHLIGHTS

BlackBerry's last device for the year 2013 has apparently been leaked, months ahead of its alleged unveiling.

It seems that BlackBerry is readying to release their first phablet-like device, the BlackBerry A10. For once, it will be moving away from its business-centric approach and, surprise, surprise, be focused on gamers.

The report comes by the means of BGR, who say that the A10 will sport a 5-inch screen of the Super AMOLED kind, a dual-core processor and a whopping 2GB of RAM. There is also word that due to the increased screen size, the phone will require a shift from the standard BlackBerry design language. BGR is reporting that the company is holding off on the launch because they are waiting for quad-core processors as a means of improving battery life.

The rumoured BlackBerry A10, with its bigger screen and more hardware bandwidth, will definitely prove to be a boon for the casual gamer who’s stuck currently on a small screen BlackBerry device, or forced to look at the 4.2-inch Z10. Even though BB’s library of games isn’t that vast, it is still home to most of the popular titles, and we can’t forget the Android app compatibility that BB is bringing with the next update for BB10 OS.

The BlackBerry A10 is rumoured to be launching this November, making it the last phone on the BB10 OS to be launched in 2013. As always, pricing will be critical for the success of this phone as it will finally determine how well the phone does. We figure that now, it’s just a waiting game.
