It wasn’t long ago that Apple announced the iPhone 15 series and the fans went gaga over it. And now, rumours about the next generation iPhone 16 have started to make rounds on the internet. From the display of the upcoming iPhone series to its batteries, everything is being discussed on the internet, and here’s what we can expect from the iPhone 16 series next year.
There have been two major developments about the iPhone 16 series so far.
Firstly, an Apple supply chain network has hinted that we could get bigger displays on the iPhone 16 Pro models. The regular iPhone 16s on the other hand, might continue with the same display size. Naver, a South Korean media outlet, recently reported that relevant industry sources have revealed that the iPhone 16 series could offer a new display size.
The change in particular could be exclusively reserved for the Pro models. The report suggests that Apple could give the iPhone 16 Pro a 6.27-inch LTPO display and the Pro Max (Ultra) a 6.86-inch LTPO display. For reference, the current

Apple iPhone 15 Pro sports a 6.1-inch display, meanwhile the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a 6.7-inch panel. But the iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could stick with 6.12-inch and 6.69-inch LTPS 60Hz displays respectively. This is similar to the current iPhone 15 series.
Secondly, a leak by Kosutami San on micro-blogging platform X (formerly Twitter) reveals the battery prototype photos of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro. The images show that the iPhone 16 Pro could see a 2.5% bigger battery size when compared to the iPhone 15 Pro. In the photos, we can see the frosted metallic shell of the battery. This might mean that Apple is considering switching from black foil casing to metallic casing for the upcoming generation. This could provide better thermal efficiency, without increasing the weight.

This reminds me, some time back, we had even heard that to fix the heating issue from the hardware front, Apple could be incorporating graphene sinks too.
Well, as I said earlier, it is too early to figure out if these leaks will turn out to be true or not. All we can do is wait till then.
