Asus has announced the launch of its ZenFone 4 Selfie series at an event in New Delhi. The company had launched the ZenFone 4 series in Taiwan last month. The ZenFone 4 Selfie series launched in India includes two variants – ZenFone 4 Selfie and ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro, as the name implies, is the premium of the three devices launched today. The handset sports dual selfie cameras with a 12MP primary sensor and 5MP secondary sensor. The primary 12MP selfie camera uses Sony's IMX362 sensor with f/1.8 aperture and dual-pixel autofocus. The primary selfie camera is capable of reproducing 24MP selfies using oversampling technology and Asus's proprietary SuperPixel Engine. The secondary 5MP sensor captures 120-degree wide-angle selfies and there is also a dedicated softlight LED flash.
The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro features a 16MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, 4K video recording support and electronic image stabilisation. Users can also shoot RAW images. The smartphone features a 5.5-inch full HD display and is powered by an Octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset, coupled with 4GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The metal unibody smartphone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery and will be available in red, gold and black colour option.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie, on the other hand, features a combination of 20MP and 8MP dual front camera setup. The primary 20MP selfie camera is capable of 69-degree selfie while the 8MP secondary sensor can capture 120-degree super wide angle selfie. The handset also features softlight LED flash for even tone selfie. The ZenFone 4 Selfie gets a 16MP rear camera setup with phase detection autofocus and LED flash.
The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch 720p HD display and is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor. The ZenFone 4 Selfie comes with 4GB RAM and 64GB expandable storage. It features a front mounted fingerprint sensor runs Android 7.0 Nougat. There is a 3000mAh battery and it will only be available in black colour option.
Asus is also adding a third variant of ZenFone 4 Selfie which comes with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and slightly tweaked camera configuration. The handset features a 13MP dual selfie camera with 140-degree selfie panorama feature and softlight LED flash. It also gets a 13MP rear camera with phase detection autofocus and LED flash. The handset is powered by Qualcomm's Snapdragon 430 chipset and comes with a front mounted fingerprint sensor.
Asus had announced its ZenFone 4 Selfie series alongside premium ZenFone 4 and ZenFone 4 Pro smartphones at an event in Taiwan last month. The ZenFone 4 Pro is company's flagship device with Snapdragon 835 mobile platform and dual rear camera setup. There is no clarity on when ZenFone 4 Pro will launch in India.
Asus ZenFone 4 Selfie with 3GB RAM and 13MP selfie camera setup is priced at Rs 9,999. The ZenFone 4 Selfie with dual 20MP and 8MP selfie camera setup is priced at Rs 14,999, but will be available for Rs 13,999 during Flipkart's Big Billion Days sale. The ZenFone 4 Selfie Pro comes with premium price tag of Rs 23,999 and all the three models will be available from Flipkart starting September 21.
