Asus Zenfone 4 Max launched with 5.5-inch display, dual-camera and 5000mAh battery

The Asus Zenfone 4 Max is the first of the six smartphones expected in the company's Zenfone 4 series. The handset's USP is the 5000mAh battery, but there is no clarity on its global availability yet.

Asus has launched the Zenfone 4 Max with a 5000mAh battery in Russia. The device is priced at 13,900 Ruble (approximately Rs 15,200), but there is no word on its global availability yet. Asus Zenfone 4 Max sport a dual-rear camera setup, a trend adopted by other smartphone makers. The handset sports a dual 13MP rear camera system with one normal lens and another supporting 120-degree field of view. There is also an 8MP front camera capable of capturing 140-degree selfie panorama shot.

The Zenfone 4 Max gets a 5.5-inch Full HD display and runs ZenUI based on Android 7.0 Nougat. As the name implies, the handset's USP is the huge 5000mAh battery, which is rated to deliver 40 hours of talk time on 3G. There is no mention of Quick Charge support, but the device comes bundled with a 10W charger capable of fully charging the device in about 4 hours. A recent leak suggested that Asus will announce its Zenfone 4 series at an event in Rome on September 21.

A recent report suggested that Asus is working on six different versions of its Zenfone 4 smartphone. The Asus Zenfone 4 Max carries the model number ZC554KL and is available with 4GB RAM and options for either 16GB, 32GB, or 64GB storage. There is also an option to get the handset with either a quad-core Snapdragon 425 chipset and an octa-core Snapdragon 430 chipset.
