Asus ZenFone 3S Max, the newest addition to company's ZenFone 3 series is expected to launch in India today. As the name implies, the smartphone is seen as the successor to ZenFone 3 Max and comes with 5000mAh battery. The smartphone will be launched via livestream scheduled to begin at 12 noon in India.
Asus ZenFone 3S Max features a metal unibody design similar to all other smartphones in the ZenFone 3 series. The Taiwanese smartphone maker has tweaked the design a bit by moving the rear camera to the left hand corner. The fingerprint sensor is front mounted and embedded into the Home button. The Asus ZenFone 3S Max offers a 5.2-inch 720p HD display and is powered by MediaTek MT6750 processor. The handset comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and support for external storage up to 256GB. The smartphone runs ZenUI 3.0 based on Android 7.0 Nougat, making it one of the few devices to run latest version of Google's mobile software.
As far as camera is concerned, Asus has packed ZenFone 3S Max with a 13MP rear shooter and an 8MP selfie camera. The rear camera comes with f/2.0 aperture paired with dual-LED flash and support for full HD video recording.
In our initial impressions, we noticed that Asus ZenFone 3S Max delivers on the battery front but pales in comparison with offerings like Xiaomi Redmi Note 4, Honor 6X or Coolpad Cool 1. The smartphone is expected to be made available in Gold and Black colour variants.
