Asus has announced two new variants of Zenfone 3 Max in India. With the new Zenfone 3 Max, Asus has expanded its already big Zenfone 3 series – which includes Zenfone 3, Zenfone 3 Deluxe and Zenfone 3 Laser.
Asus Zenfone 3 Max, as the name implies, is all about its big battery. Asus Zenfone 3 Max features a design similar to the budget flagship Zenfone 3 smartphone, which was launched in August in India. The device features unibody metal design with an awkwardly shaped fingerprint sensor at the back. The smartphone, however, is one of the few devices in 2016 to continue using the microUSB port.
Asus Zenfone 3 Max comes in two variants defering in terms of display, memory and processor. Asus Zenfone 3 Max will be available in 5.2-inch and 5.5-inch screen sizes with 720p HD and full HD displays respectively. Asus Zenfone 3 with 5.2-inch display is powered by MediaTek MT6735 processor while the larger 5.5-inch model gets a Snapdragon 430 chipset.
On the camera front, Asus has added a 16MP primary camera to Zenfone 3 Max with phase detection autofocus, laser autofocus with f/2.0 aperture. There is also an 8MP front camera with support for different beautification modes. The front and rear cameras on Asus Zenfone 3 Max are capable of shooting full HD videos.
Asus Zenfone 3 Max offers 3GB RAM and 32GB expandable storage. The smartphone houses a 4,100mAh battery as opposed to 5,000mAh battery seen on the original Zenfone Max. The 5.2-inch Asus Zenfone 3 Max is priced at Rs 12,999 while the 5.5-inch will retail for Rs 17,999.
