Asus' latest Zenfone 2 smartphone will be launching in India in April this year. The company has just launched the phone in Taiwan with price ranging between $ 160 and $285.
The top model ZE551ML featuring 5.5-inch full HD display, 4GB of RAM and 2.3GHz quad-core Intel processor is priced at $285, which is roughly Rs. 17869. The 2GB version with 1.8GHz processor, also called ZE551ML, is priced at Rs. $220, which is about Rs. 13793.
The model no. ZE550ML has a 5.5-inch 720p display, 2GB of RAM , 16GB storage and 1.8GHz processor is priced at $190, which is Rs. 11904. The lowest of the lot is the ZE550CL, which features 5-inch 720p display, 1.6GHz processor and 2GB of RAM. The phone is priced at $160, roughly Rs. 10031.
Asus had showcased the Zenfone 2 at the recently held CES 2015. The smartphone had grabbed everyone's attention with its massive 4GB of RAM. Asus had then said the Zenfone 2 price would be around $200 (for 2GB version). However, the Taiwan launch will help clear bit of air about the Zenfone 2 pricing.
Asus has previously launched several versions of its Zenfone smartphone, perhaps to target each budget category possible. It recently launched a Zenfone 4 variant, Zenfone C, featuring a 4.5-inch display, Intel Atom Z2520 processor and 2,100 mAh battery.
