Asus is expected to lift the veil off the PadFone Infinity on September 17. The company has sent out press invites for an event in Taipe where the company will showcase the smartphone/tablet combo device. The company’s CEO Jerry Shen will be hosting the event.
The design of the PadFone Infinity is expected to be the same as its predecessor. The smartphone is expected to have a 5-inch display with a 1920×1080 pixel resolution. Under the hood, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 SoC powers the device. The device also showcases 2GB RAM and the rear has a 13MP camera. It will sport 64GB built-in storage. Just like the PadFone we saw last year, the PadFone Infinity will showcase the ability to be housed inside a tablet docking station. Once docked, the power from the smartphone is used to give users an Android tablet experience. The tablet docking station houses its own battery and a 10-inch display. The device is expected to run on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean straight out of the box.
To build some hype around the product, Asus has a countdown running on its official website which shows the days, hours, minutes and seconds left for the event to begin. There is also a teaser vide available on the site, but the teaser doesn’t showcase specifications or the features of the device.
