Asus has an event scheduled for May 30, where the company is likely to announce its next flagship, the Zenfone 3. The company has released a new teaser video of the phone on YouTube, giving us a sneak peek at three phones. These should be the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and ZenFone 3 Max smartphones. The teaser also spells out words, "clarity", "desire", and "unlimited", in capital letters.
The Asus Zenfone 3 teaser gives us a quick glimpse of the rear camera and then word “clarity’” splashes onto the screen, which could indicate a better camera or display. Similarly, just after it shows the design and metal being moulded, the word “desire” is shown. So, we should see the Asus Zenfone 3 lineup with metal unibody designs. Asus CEO, Jerry Shen had earlier predicted that the Zenfone 3 Max will account for almost two-thirds of Zenfone 3 shipments. He also added, at the time, that 90 percent of Zenfone 3 phones will be powered by a Qualcomm SoC.
Previously Asus was using Intel SoC, but since Intel has scrapped plans to develop mobile SoC’s, Asus will have to source SoCs from other manufacturers. According to leaks thus far, the Zenfone 3 may be launched in the mid-range price bracket and are supposedly going to be powered by Snapdragon 615 and 650 SoCs. It is likely that all phones will be announced in different RAM and ROM combinations. Asus is also expected to include a fingerprint scanner and may bring a USB Type-C port as well.
