Asus Padfone mini with 4.3-inch phone, 7-inch tablet combo goes official

The Asus Padfone mini is a mid-range device featuring a 4.3-inch phone with a 7-inch tablet dock.

Asus has officially unveiled its newest smartphone-and-tablet hybrid – Padfone mini at an event in Taiwan. The PadFone mini sports a 4.3-inch 960×540 display and comes with a tablet docking station, which has Super IPS screen with 1,280 x 800 resolution (216ppi). The tablet adds 2,200 mAh battery and 310g of weight (out of a total of 415g).

The Asus Padfone mini runs Android 4.3 Jelly Bean and is powered by a 1.4GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor along with 1GB RAM. It features 8MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and BSI sensor, 2MP camera on the front, 16GB built-in storage, expandable via microSD card, and a 1,500mAh battery.

In terms of connectivity, the Asus Padfone mini supports dual-SIM, Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0, A-GPS and Glonass. The Asus Padfone mini 4.3 will be available in multiple colour variants – Black, Pink and White colour.

The Asus Padfone mini is priced at 11,900 New Taiwanese dollars, which is about Rs. 25,000. The device is expected to be launched in China, Russia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore and Indonesia soon. There’s no word on India launch yet.

Prior to the Padfone mini, Asus has launched Padfone, Padfone 2 and Padfone Infinity smartphone-and-tablet hybrids.
