Best way to dry your wet iPhone

First thing, iPhones come with an IP68 rating against water and dust. So, your iPhone is safe to a considerable extent. However, sometimes it shows a ‘Liquid Detected’ alert that happens when you keep it in water for a long time. While the iPhone feels that there is water inside it, it doesn’t allow charging. Because of this, some users try the methods written above. But, here’s what you should really do if it’s wet:

  • First and foremost, don’t use any external heat source, instead put it in an open area. Let air go through your device and dry the water.
  • Next, use the water ejector tool. I find it very useful and it has been coming in iPhones since iPhone 7. To use it, go to Shortcuts > open All Shortcuts > tap on Water Eject > select Start.
  • After this, give your device 2-3 hours alone in an open area. Then use the water ejector once more and it should be good to use.
