Apple vs Samsung: The latter might win with thinner bezels on Galaxy S25 Ultra
Apple announced the iPhone 16 Pro Max with even more reduced bezels.
And now, the next Android to compete with it, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra is still under work.
Now that Apple has showcased really thin bezels, rumours suggest that Samsung will go a notch extra.
Apple just announced its latest iPhone 16 series. And the top-end variant, the iPhone 16 Pro Max reduced the bezels even more. They were even slimmer than before, which is impressive. And now, the next Android to compete with it, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra, which is still under work, is expected to pack even slimmer bezels.
Samsung and Apple have had an unsaid rivalry when it comes to bezels for a while now. Now that Apple has showcased really thin bezels, rumours suggest that Samsung will go a notch extra. While the practical significance of the bezels is debatable, this rivalry has been going on for years and has influenced the design of both the smartphones.
There’s still time before Samsung unveils its flagship smartphone, until then let’s see what Apple has done with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. So as you must have noticed, the iPhone 16 Pro Max has really thin bezels. You get that almost edge-to-edge display. Some reports suggest that the bezels have been reduced by 30% when compared to the iPhone 15 Pro Max.
As per recent rumours, Samsung is trying to match up to that and even surpass what Apple has done with the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Leakster Ice Universe said that Samsung plans to trim the bezels on its flagship by 0.2mm. This might be such a small change that many might miss it. He further adds that Samsung could even beat Apple by a small margin.
If you ask about real customers, the bezel battle doesn’t matter for a lot of people. They want more meaningful features like camera improvements, battery life, and software enhancements. But in the tech race, thinner bezels mean technological refinement and innovation for both companies, adding to the luxury appeal of their devices.
The Galaxy S25 Ultra is expected to drop early next year, keeping in mind Samsung’s timeline.
