Apple to launch iPhone 7c in April 2016?
HIGHLIGHTS

According to China Mobile's product line-up, Apple is expected to launch a 4-inch iPhone 7c in April next year.

Chinese website 'My Drivers' has reported that according to China Mobile's recently showcased product roadmap, Apple will be launching the iPhone 7c in April 2016. As shown in the picture above, the table highlighting future product launches from China Mobile mentions the launch of a 4-inch Apple iPhone 7c. Early rumours on 9to5 mac suggested that Apple will be holding an event in March to introduce the Apple Watch 2. It is now expected that the company will also launch the next iteration of the iPhone- the iPhone 7c, at that event. The iPhone 7c is expected to have a 4-inch compact display with hardware internals from the iPhone 6s. The smartphone is also expected to be a cheaper option that the current iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus flagships. Although Apple may launch this budget option in April, the next big iPhone is still touted to be the iPhone 7 and the device is expected to be launched in September 2016.

Digit had reported earlier that the iPhone 7 is expected to have a flexible, curved OLED display. According to analyst Gene Munster of Piper Jaffray, the Seventh edition of the iPhone may not sport the iconic home button and that Apple is expected to do away with it in order to increase the size of the display. Another report by Japanese Apple blog Macotakara suggests that Apple may completely do away with the 3.5mm headphone jack in the iPhone 7 and that  future iPhones may only connect to a headphone via Bluetooth or the lightning connector or even a USB Type C connector.

We will keep tracking the rumour mill closely. Watch this space for more updates on Apple's upcoming devices.
