Apple has confirmed the launch date of the iPhone 16 series. The tech giant has announced the new iPhone models will be unveiled on September 9 at Apple Park in Cupertino, California. In what will be the most important and much-hyped iPhone launch in years, Apple is likely to focus heavily on Apple Intelligence or its suite of AI features that were announced earlier during WWDC 2024.
In all likelihood, Apple will use the event to launch four new iPhone models. These will include – the standard iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the top-end iPhone 16 Pro Max. All of these phones are likely to run the company’s latest iOS 18 and will be equipped with Apple Intelligence.
Along with this, the iPhone 16 series will also be the first to introduce ChatGPT integration for Apple. The partnership was also announced during the WWDC in June and is going to be an important talk point during the iPhone 16 series launch event.

What to expect from the iPhone 16 series?
Apple will most likely announce four smartphones with its new iPhone lineup. These will be the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and the iPhone 16 Pro Max. Apart from this, we are expecting a design change in both standard models and Pro models. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus are rumoured to have a redesigned camera module, which is said to be cylindrical in shape and slightly lifted from the back panel. Now, the change in Pro and Pro Max’s design could be a bigger size of 6.3-inch and 6.9-inch.
Moving to their hardware, all iPhone 16 models are rumoured to be powered by Apple’s A18 chipset. The display of all four phones can be brighter than their predecessors and a slight battery upgrade can also be expected. For photography, we might see a 48-megapixel dual camera setup on the back of standard iPhone 16 models, and a 48-megapixel triple camera setup on the Pro models.
iPhone 16 series expected pricing
According to rumours, the starting price of the standard iPhone 16 will remain at $799, the same as last year. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Plus is expected to start at $899. The iPhone 16 Pro might be priced at $1,099, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max could start at $1,199, mirroring last year’s pricing. In India, the iPhone 16 is speculated to launch at Rs 79,900, the iPhone 16 Plus at Rs 89,900, the iPhone 16 Pro at Rs 1,34,900, and the Pro Max at Rs 1,59,900.
