Of late, earlier yesterday, Apple finally turned loose their newly revamped mobile operating system – iOS 4. The iOS 4 (previously, iPhone OS 4) is now available as an update for anyone having an iPhone 3G, 3GS or iPhone 4; the new iPod touch users (2G and 3G) are also in luck. Apple clued, the iOS will also being prepared to get an official support on their tablet platform – iPad – later this year.
The update, build version 8A293, consists of a few eagerly awaited features and hundreds more apparently minor ones. Apple finally introduced multitasking feature to their mobile operating system with iOS 4, though only available for iPhone 3GS and iPhone 4 (yes, iPhone 3G users, you are out of luck). Apart from multitasking, even the local notification is sure to give the app developers some delight as well as the users, to implement and use this feature in their app. The local notification will let you keep track on the multiple apps (and background services) activities by showing pop-up messages on the screen, so that now you can concentrate on an e-book and get warned when you receive a new email, freeing you the trouble to check time to time.
