The month of September is riddled with gadget launches and amongst the first and most awaited is the iPhone 6 launch scheduled for September 9, eight days from now. But Apple isn’t expected to launch the new iteration of the iPhone alone. The company has been rumoured to be bringing the iWatch smartwatch as well. As the rumours mill has come alive, the most recent one suggests that the Cupertino,California based company will be bringing multiple wearables.
In a report published by Recode, the publication cited unidentified sources saying that Apple’s event won’t have a single wearable device, which people have been calling the iWatch. The sources said that there would be multiple models that will be available at different prices. Further, the report also said that Apple has considered pricing the devices at as high as $400, almost double of what competing Android Wear devices cost right now.
The number of devices that will be available isn’t known yet, but Apple could very well decide to mix and match with different sizes and specifications depending on the price points. The Recode report said that it wasn’t clear whether the company has settled on a price yet and may hold off on making the same public till a later date. Another rumour suggested that even if the iWatch is announced on September 9, the device won’t be available till next year.
