Recently, we heard that all iPhone 16 models will be equipped with Apple’s A18 chip, according to rumours. And now, a new leak is surfacing on the internet that hints at a necessary design change. Well, not all design leaks are just about looks, so we dug into that, and here’s what this leak has to say.
How will iPhone 16 offer longer battery life?
Well, battery life is one of the most noted complaints from iPhone users and Apple has been working on it since iPhone 11. With the iPhone 16, the tech giant is expected to offer even longer battery life than the iPhone 15 series. For context, Apple promises 20 hours of video playback with the iPhone 15 on a full charge.
Coming back to our main focus, the design change and longer battery life. According to a post on X by Apple analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, Apple might change the foil battery case and replace it with a stainless steel case in the iPhone 16. This will help the devices to increase the battery cell density by 5-10% by ensuring safety as well.

Now this leak gains significance because a new EU regulation states that, by 2027, all smartphones must come with replaceable batteries. So, a battery with a stainless steel cover would be also easier to replace, according to Kuo.
Apart from this leak, MacRumors previously reported some more design changes in the standard iPhone 16 models that hint at a new camera module. The iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Plus could feature a cylindrical camera module for their dual camera setup, instead of the squarish camera module.
So, that’s how Apple might offer a better battery life in the iPhone 16. However, these are just leaks, which might and might not be wrong. So stay tuned till Apple actually rolls out the iPhone 16 series.
