With the iPhone 5C 8GB, Apple isn’t just eyeing the market share, but also raising its Average Selling Price (ASP) in India. Traditionally, Apple has been targeting the premium smartphone segment with its flagship models. However, Apple hinted at a major shift in its strategy for the Indian market this year, as it re-launched its iPhone 4 in the country.
According to reports, Apple saw a decline of 10-15% in April from March in smartphone sales. The new model is expected to push volumes. “Apple’s iPhone 5C 8GB model is likely to do well in India, since most consumers in India do not care much about the storage memory if there is a good price and deal,” Times of India quotes one of the local trade partners of Apple.
