Samsung has just unveiled the Samsung GalaxyS24 series and it has taken the tech market by storm. The much-awaited flagship offering from Samsung goes hard on AI and has some crazy upgrades to offer. But I was wondering how it will stand when compared to Apple’s iPhone 15 Pro Max and its predecessor, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. Let’s compare these three smartphones and see which one’s a better choice for you.
Speaking of the display first, the iPhone 15 Pro Max packs a 6.7-inch OLED display and offers a refresh rate of 120Hz with a peak brightness of 2000 nits. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra and the Galaxy S24 Ultra have a 6.8-inch AMOLED display offering a 120Hz refresh rate. However, the Galaxy S24 Ultra provides 2600 nits of peak brightness, whereas the Galaxy S23 Ultra lags with just 1750 nits of peak brightness.

Let’s talk about the performance of these devices now. The iPhone 15 Pro Max runs on Apple’s A17 Pro chip. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, on the other hand, focuses majorly on AI and runs on Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip coupled with generative AI features from the Galaxy AI. The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, however, does not have AI capabilities and runs on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor.
All three devices come with top-of-the-line camera setups. The iPhone 15 Pro Max features a triple camera set up on the rear which includes a 48-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel Ultrawide camera, and a 12-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom. It also has a 12-megapixel selfie shooter.
The S23 Ultra and the S24 Ultra have almost identical cameras. However, we see a change in the Galaxy S24 Ultra with a 50-megapixel, 5x optical zoom telephoto camera. The 10x optical zoom on the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra has not been carried forward. So there’s a 200-megapixel OIS primary camera, a 10-megapixel Telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, and a 12-megapixel Ultra Wide lens. The two smartphones also carry a 12-megapixel selfie shooter.
The iPhone 15 Pro Max carries the smallest battery among the three and is powered by a 4441mAh battery. The Samsung Galaxy S23 and S24 Ultra, on the other hand, have a 5,000mAh battery. All three devices support fast charging, Apple offers up to 27-watt, whereas the Galaxy S23 Ultra and Galaxy S24 Ultra offer up to 45-watt fast charging. With Samsung devices, you even get reverse wireless charging support.
Lastly, coming to the prices. The iPhone 15 Pro Max starts at a price of ₹1,59,900. The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has been launched at a starting price of ₹1,29,999, whereas the Galaxy S23 Ultra starts at ₹1,24,999.

All three smartphones, i.e. the iPhone 15 Pro Max, the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra, and the Galaxy S24 Ultra are top-of-the-line flagship devices giving a tough fight to each other. The final choice boils down to your personal preferences and budget. All three offer excellent display, performance, camera capabilities, and battery life. However, I would prefer the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra among all three devices. This is because of the infusion of AI to its core, the latest hardware, and I feel it’s the most cost-effective device among the three.
