Supported iPhones for Apple Intelligence
Not all iPhones will support Apple Intelligence. The features are only available for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and the entire iPhone 16 series. If you have one of these models, you can access the new AI tools through the iOS 18.1 update.
Key Apple Intelligence features
- Systemwide Writing Tools: These writing tools are integrated across iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. They help users rewrite, proofread, and summarise text across apps like Mail, Messages, Notes, and third-party platforms. The AI-powered Rewrite feature lets users adjust the tone of their writing, whether they want it to be professional, concise, or friendly. You can also summarise text into paragraphs, bullet points, or lists.
- New Siri: Siri now has a new look, featuring a glowing light around the screen when active on iPhones, iPads, or in CarPlay. On Mac, Siri can be placed anywhere on the desktop for quick access. Users can type or speak to Siri and switch between text and voice seamlessly. Siri now also answers more Apple-related questions and retains context across multiple requests.
- Enhanced Photos App: The Photos app gets a boost with Apple Intelligence, allowing users to search for images using natural language. The new Clean Up tool helps remove distractions from photos while preserving the original moment. Additionally, users can create custom movies by simply typing a description of what they want.
- Priority Messages: Apple Intelligence also improves messaging, with a feature that summarises long or stacked notifications, especially in group chats. It prioritises important messages and helps users stay focused. Additionally, in the Notes and Phone apps, users can record, transcribe and summarise audio, with summaries available after calls.
It’s important to note that you will still have to change your location to US to use Apple Intelligence in India. It will come to India in April 2025.
