Rumours of the next iteration of Google’s Nexus range of smartphones have been coming in for some time now. The phone, which had earlier been spotted on GFXBench, under the codename Motorola Shamu, has now been seen on AnTuTu with some added details.
Most interesting amongst these is that while all other flagships have come with the Snapdragon 801 SoC, the Nexus 6 seems to be flaunting a shiny new Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset along with the Adreno 420 GPU. The processor clocks at 2.65 GHz, while the Snapdragon 801 does a maximum clock speed of 2.5 GHz. In addition, the Nexus 6 also seems to boast 3 GB RAM, which automatically sparks expectations of the phone being a performance beast.
Furthermore, AnTuTu’s benchmarks shows the smartphone under the name Google Shamu, making the claims of it being the Nexus 6 even stronger. For the uninitiated, the Nexus devices are always codenamed after fish, irrespective of who makes it. The new iteration is supposedly carrying a 5.2 inch QHD display along with a pixel density of 564 ppi.
The device will also carry a 13 MP camera on the back along with a 2.1 MP front camera. In addition, the Nexus 6 will of course bring with it the newest version of Android, or Android L, as it is currently known.
