The Sony Xperia X3, also known as the ‘Rachel’, has been making news for quite some time now. Even after a leaked video of its Android-based UI, product images and specifications, Sony-Ericsson has still not confirmed its existence.
Be that as it may, 4PDA has now got its hands on a unit and shown off the first live shot of the upcoming phone.
The image is a bit grainy, but there can be no doubt about the phone itself. The ‘Rachel’ or ‘Xperia X3’ should be official soon, we hope.
For those who came in late, the Xperia X3 has been rumoured to be running on Google Android – the first Xperia phone to do so – and packs a 1GHz Snapdragon processor. And just like HTC has the Sense UI, Sony will be coming up with a custom overlaid user interface for the phone.
If that’s not enough, the display is a large 4-inch capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 852×420 pixels. On the back will sit an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash, autofocus, image stabilisation, face and smile detection and VGA recording at 30 frames per second.
This one promises to shake up the market for Android, and we can’t wait to see what one of the world’s best phone manufacturers does with Google’s operating system.
