Motorola has begun rolling out the Android Marshmallow v6.0 update for the Moto G (2nd Gen). The update would bring a number of additional features to the device such as Google Now on Tap, which will provide contextual results within any app. The update would also come with an improved app permissions system, which would allow users more control over what they share with installed application. Another feature called App Standby will reduce the background activity of apps that are rarely used.
When the Moto G (2nd Gen) was launched back in 2014, it came with Android Kitkat v4.4. It was updated to Android Lollipop in January, 2015. Motorola is usually amongst the first to update its devices to a new version and has already begun updating its lineup to Android Marshmallow v6.0. The Moto X Style and Moto X (2nd Gen) were amongst the first to start receiving the update back in November last year. The Moto G (3rd Gen) received the update in early January this year, while the Moto G Turbo Edition got the update a few days later.
Earlier this month, Motorola launched the Moto X Force in India with prices starting at Rs. 49,999. The highlight of the device is its 5.4-inch ShatterShield display, which Motorola claims to be shatterproof. The device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor with 3GB of RAM. It comes with a 3760mAh battery and runs Android Lollipop v5.1.1.
