The Honor 7 is now receiving the Android Marshmallow v6.0 update in India. However, users will have to register their device for the OTA update by providing their device’s IMEI number, current software version and email address. User’s can also provide their contact number if they want. The company says that the OTA update will be provided in 24 to 48 hours from the time of registration.
The Honor 7 was unveiled back in July and was finally launched in India in October this year. The phone comes with a 5.2-inch Full HD screen and is powered by a Kirin 935 SoC with 3GB of RAM. At the back is a 20MP camera and a fingerprint sensor while at the front is an 8MP camera. The device comes with 16GB of onboard storage which is expandable, as well as a 3100mAh battery. The phone is priced at Rs. 22,999 and is exclusively available on Flipkart. The company had also unveiled the Band Z1 at the same event. The band is priced at Rs. 5,499 and comes with IP68 certification as well as a 1.06-inch POLED display.
Earlier this month, Honor announced a new version of the Honor 7 in China called the Enhanced Edition. This version of the device comes with Android Marshmallow v6.0 pre-installed with EMUI 4.0 layered over it. The new variant also comes with 32GB of onboard storage as compared to the 16GB of storage found on the standard edition. The Enhanced Edition comes with a 9V-2A charger for fast charging and a voice-activated virtual assistant developed by Huawei and Baidu. The rest of the specifications of the Enhanced Edition are the same as that of the standard Honor 7. The phone is priced at CNY 1,990, which is approximately Rs. 20,300.
