Android 2.2 FroYo ported to Acer Liquid, Motorola Milestone, and even the iPhone 3G!
As might you might have guessed, the updates are not official, no, not even for the Milestone and Liquid, who are just the latest in a long line of manual updates from Android 2.1 to 2.2. The port to the iPhone 3G is certainly more out of the ordinary, but will make some morbidly curious 3G owners very, very happy, and the rest of us can simply wait to enjoy the Android 2.2 OS at its full potential, in a legal update for your phone.
But if you want to risk your phone’s stability and warranty, go ahead!
Some details of the porting limitations for the above phones (and some interesting ported videos below):
Motorola Milestone/Droid: Though it comes complete with the ROM, the FroYo update will not support WiFi (removed to protect the original source apparently), but will do pretty much everything else.
iPhone 3G: No WiFi, no audio, overheating, and plenty of bugs
Acer Liquid: No WiFi and camera, and plenty of bugs
